Q. What is meant by self-catering apartment?
A.
A self-catering apartment is not serviced daily, as in a hotel. Additionally, cooking, cleaning and washing are done by the guest. However, for stays of more than one week, the apartment will be serviced once weekly and fresh towels supplied at a time arranged to suit the guest(s). If additional cleaning is required, this can be arranged at an extra cost.

Q. Are the apartments furnished?
A. All Ashwood Apartments are tastefully furnished with comfort in mind. Each includes a TV & DVD player, refrigerator, washer-dryer, dishwasher & microwave. The kitchen is fully equipped, towels and bedlinen are supplied. Guests must provide their own towels for use in the leisure club.

Q. Are the apartments family-friendly?
A. Ashwood Apartments were set up especially with families in mind. With wooden flooring throughout and leather furniture they are totally equipped to deal with all the “thrills & spills” of family life. The washer-dryer allows families with young children to travel light and do any laundry they need to. Baby equipment such as cot, highchair, steriliser, bottle-warmer can also be provided (subject to availability). We can also supply a selection of DVD’s for our young guests and even organise a babysitter should parents need some quality time on their own. Babysitting fees are paid directly to sitter.

Q. Are the apartments centrally located?
A. Ashwood apartments are located on the grounds of The Mill Park Hotel in Donegal Town. This is within a 10 min walk of the centre of town.

Q. What booking deposit is required?
A. A deposit of 50 euros is required for weekend and short breaks and 200 euros for weekly lets.

Q. Is a damage deposit required?
A. Generally there is no damage deposit required although we reserve the right to request one for lettings of more than 2 apartments to the same group. Guests are fully responsible for any damage caused by the guest or any of the guest’s party.

Guests are asked to ensure that apartments are left in good condition – all waste placed in bins to rear of building, and all crockery, cutlery and utensils washed or put on to wash in dishwasher.

Q. Are there any other fees or charges?
A. If booking by credit card a small fee may be applied. All other normal charges (electricity/gas etc.) are covered in the nightly rate.

Q. How is key handover arranged?
A.
There is no reception desk so key handover is arranged at time of booking. Generally guests ring Tina on 00353 749740729 or 00353 8729813209 when they arrive and she meets them at the apartment block.

Q. How many sets of keys can we have?
A. Currently, we give two sets of keys for each apartment. This gives greater freedom especially if two couples sharing the one apartment want to do their own thing.

Q. What time is check-in/check-out?
A.
Check-in is usually any time after 4pm and check-out 11am. During low season and quieter times earlier check-ins and later check-outs can be arranged.

During busy times we request that guests leave the apartment no later than 11am as we need to have access to the apartment to service it prior to the arrival of the next guest(s).

Q. Is parking available?
A. The building has its own car park to the front and rear of the building.

Q. When is the balance of payment required?
A.
Balance of payment is required on arrival at the apartment.
